Anyway, keeping with the references given to me by the MAIN GUY, these are what I threw at him;
The feedback was that he looked too old. Too muscle-mad and that the ninja realm just wasn't ready for a Mohawk'd hero.
So, I made him younger, kept the hairstyle from the first and gave him muscles that would make a creepily muscular twelve year old Kingdom Hearts kid weep. Then MR. MAIN GUY asked for armor! And suddenly expressed his dislike for the scarf and a hidden desire to see a flowing headband instead! So. I delivered...
AND THEN GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? Summer started. Idea changed. Arnie Ninja was scrapped.
MR. MAIN GUY decided to scale the game down from an adventure genre to a beat'em'up Blazblue type. For research purposes, I bought Blazblue, and regretted it every day since. Yeah it's pretty, but man is it shit! And Tekken! What the hell was Tekken 6 even all about?! WHAT was that main story thing trying to achieve?! Just what?! BULLSHITE. Needless to say, I traded both in as soon as possible...
Back on track. The new idea called for five characters, one for each element of the chinese...eh...element.....chart thing? Wood, Water, Metal, Earth and Fire. And originally, they were all supposed to be males. Then I pointed out the glaring sausage fest issue, and pushed for a couple of ladies to be included. I managed to talk MR. MAIN GUY round to having the Fire ninja be a girl, but he insisted that the whip wielding water fiend remained male. Naturally.
Now! That's not all. Really, I had to design 10 characters, as each of the Elements had an active and inactive state. Inactive, they looked like humans, active, they looked like humanoid incarnations of the element they were in charge of.
FEAST. YER. EYES. ON. THE. WU. XING. FIVE.
EARTH MAN. NOTICE THE MANLY BUTTERFLY TATTOO.
WOOD GUY. VOODOO SKELETON TYPE ELEMENTAL FORM. EASILY MY FAVOURITE.
GOT MYSELF A MOHAWK ON THE METAL GUY. Score.
THE MANLIEST MAN IN THE WORLD. WATER GUY.
NICE FACE. SHAME ABOUT THE MESS OF PROPORTIONS.
Yeah. After I pushed for a female character, I magically forgot how to draw women after drawing so many men. HAHAHA. Just as well the development came to a grinding halt as soon as everyone else in the team got their fourth year projects...or some such excuse. Typical, these things tend to happen to everything I touch =D
But yeah...need any concept work done? I'm a good worker...honest.
